The company employs 11 in Colorado at its 5,000-square-foot plant, making miniature check valves. Sales have doubled sales in the past two years, Rusty Wilhelm, sales and engineering representative, said at Pneuline’s display at the Medical Design & Manufacturing West show Feb. 9-11 in Anaheim. “We project $1.5 million in 2016.”
Pneuline assembles the valves in a 200-square-foot Class 8 cleanroom and is certified under ISO 9001:2008.
Pneuline contracts with Elcam Medical’s Injectech LLC unit in Fort Collins, Colo., for injection molding of components on Fanuc Robotshot presses.
Pneuline uses a Fusion M2 printer from Epilog Laser of Golden, Colo., for custom labeling tasks.
Most of Pneuline’s volume involves diaphragm check valves. The firm is developing spring-loaded check valves for biopharmaceutical applications.
Pneuline was founded in 2006 as a distributor of automotive valves and transitioned to in-house manufacturing in mid-2013. “We started with a 3/16-inch valve for an oxygen concentrator,” Wilhelm said.
