A thief smashed glass and tore a metal bar off the main door of a garden-supply business in Pierrefonds-Roxboro to gain entry in the wee hours of the morning on March 20.

Montreal police Const. Daniel Maheu from Station 3 said the suspect broke into the business on Gouin Blvd. W. at 1:30 a.m. after smashing the door’s glass panel and removing its horizontal metal bar to help push the damaged door open.

Security footage shows the suspect making a beeline for the store’s two cash registers. He opened the registers with keys that had been left sitting on the machines. One was empty. He left with an undisclosed amount from the other machine.
