H&M’s latest designer collaboration has been announced, and this time, the Swedish retailer has tapped into Canadian talent.
Montreal-born and now London-based designer Erdem Moralioglu has been announced as the latest designer to create a capsule collection for the international clothing company.
“From the moment we started talking with Erdem about the collaboration, I was captured by his vision,” Ann-Sofie Johansson, the creative advisor for H&M, said in a news release. . For ERDEM x H&M he has created an enchanting world full of beauty, delicacy and rich details. These are special pieces you will want to wear forever.”
The release, which is slated to hit stores, as well as online at Hm.com on Nov. 2, will feature pieces for men and women that “reinterpret the design themes from some of his most celebrated collections.”
Erdem received a huge nod of support for the launch thanks to a cinematic teaser trailer by filmmaker Baz Luhrmann. The significance of the partnership was not lost on the design talent.
“I am so happy to collaborate with H&M, and to explore my work on a whole new scale including a menswear collection which I have never done before,” he said in the release. “It’s also such a thrill to work with Baz Luhrmann, one of the most important storytellers of our time.”
Shopper’s paradise at Nordstrom
It’s sure to be a shop-until-you-drop situation at Nordstrom when the retailer’s annual Anniversary Sale kicks off July 21.
The sale will see the retailer mark down many of its new arrivals (yes, for fall and even winter) for a limited time.
Shoppers can expect to find shoes, clothing, accessories and more on sale during the two-week sale period. After the Anniversary Sale wraps, the prices will return to full-price, which means, if you’re looking to stock up on fall/winter styles — now’s the time to do it.

A new stylish (and Canadian!) read
The Canada 150 love continues at Holt Renfrew with the release of a new collaboration for the H Project.
The retailer is offering copies of the new book release, Glorious & Free: The Canadians by authors Rita Field-Marsham and Kim Bozak, housed inside a keepsake tote bag by the Canadian brand Smythe.
The hardcover tome tells the stories of 33 “outstanding and daring” Canadians, including artist, athletes, entrepreneurs and more, in an attempt to showcase the “ever-changing kaleidoscope of the nation’s identity,” according to a news release.

Joe Fresh extends sizes
Canadian retailer Joe Fresh is expanding its size range for Fall 2017.
The company recently announced its upcoming collection will be available to shoppers in sizes 0-22.
