Support for WordPress hosted under complete management
Wibble are known as one of the best web design and web development agencies on the island of Ireland and this is something that I am exceptionally proud of as we are still a relatively small agency based in Belfast.
The amount of effort we put into ongoing support and maintenance is one of our agency’s most important characteristics. I think this is one of the reasons we really stand out from other agencies because we focus a lot of our day-to-day efforts on providing our clients with exceptional support and maintenance services. Our award-winning web design portfolio demonstrates without a shadow of a doubt that we are capable of designing and building websites that are both exceptionally beautiful and useful. However, one of our greatest strengths is our capacity to care for and maintain sites, both those built internally and those acquired from other agencies. The Wibble Rescue Package is a service we’ve developed that focuses on taking over other people’s WordPress sites. This is a service we have built where we can pick up any existing WordPress site, migrate it to our servers without any data loss or downtime and we then wrap it in a bundle of services to ensure that the site is online, protected, backed up and fully managed.
Galen Pharma is our first new client
Sir Allen McClay, who passed away in 1968, established Galen in Craigavon. In 1997, Galen became Northern Ireland’s first £1 billion company and in 2002, Sir Allen formed what is now known as the Almac Group and Galen is a proud member of that group of world-class companies in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.
Galen approached us because of our reputation for WordPress expertise and dedicated management and support. However, we had to pitch and present our plans for the migration management and support of this extensive collection of business-critical websites because it was not yet a done deal. Galen was especially interested in how we approached ongoing security and monitoring, as well as the procedures we had in place to guarantee that the site would be protected and monitored on a regular basis. I am exceptionally proud that Galen, with all of its resources and reach, chose Wibble to be their web support and hosting agency. It is a huge get for us and I was absolutely delighted when we were given the good news. It is a significant indicator of Wibble’s current position in the market. Anyone who reads my web design blogs regularly will know that I want Wibble to be the best web design agency on the island of Ireland. Picking up a client like Galen Pharma is such a strong indicator that we are there or very close to being there that I literally never stop talking about it. Migration of websites and dedicated WordPress hosting With a company the size of Galen, they obviously had a large digital presence with upwards of 13 different sites being utilised by their sales and marketing teams globally. Unfortunately, Galen was using a different studio to handle their hosting and maintenance, but that studio was no longer able to handle the account. WordPress management, design, and development are our primary areas of expertise. However, we are also a leading fully managed WordPress host and this was a requirement for this client. For each of these websites, we have set up and overseen a hosting environment that is somewhat involved, with deployments, backups, monitoring, firewalls, and the complete fulfillment of all security requirements. We had to make sure that each site had a multi-environment setup because of the legal requirements for pharmaceutical products. This allowed us to manage content at a granular level and get legal approvals. This environment was created by our development team and is currently managed entirely by our support and maintenance team, demonstrating our in-house expertise and skills. ongoing website support and maintenance That we did not construct any of the Galen environment sites that we currently have is not a problem. We are responsible for the security, upkeep, and support of all of these sites from a maintenance point of view. I have previously written about how we use a principle known as the Golden Gate Bridge Approach to provide ongoing WordPress maintenance and support, and we have applied this principle to Galen exactly the same way. We look after all WordPress core updates, plugin updates, environment updates, security patches, backups, monitoring – the whole works. We are their first choice for all of their web needs. We provide more specialized help and support in addition to the fundamental maintenance and support: the Galen suite of products has a fantastic sales and marketing team behind them, and they constantly require updates, changes, content updates, etc., and we are there to implement these things. We have a process in place to allow for the rapid communication, pushing, testing and then deployment of changes across the range of sites, which has been a key feature of our maintenance offering to date.
Progress
The project has been run in a relatively short amount of time, so far the engagement from the Galen team and the improvements that Wibble has made to the sites have been great to see. In order to support the Galen team’s plans for further expansion and enhancement, we are collaborating with them to further enhance each site with new features and business development initiatives. This project is truly one of the ones I am most proud of. It is a huge indicator of our standing as a dedicated WordPress and web agency. I am immensely proud of the team within Wibble and have seen fantastic feedback coming back from Galen directly on how pleased they are with the level of support and maintenance that our team are providing.
