Talking to Millennium Post, Sanjana stated that her mother used to share her pain with him. She used to tell her that paternal uncle threaten her regularly and she was scared that he might harm her physically. The woman used to cry, but for the children, she used to go for work every day and did not tell father anything in this regard. “I never thought he would kill her, my mother was working in a godown for the family,” said Sanjana.

The deceased is survived by her husband Fugi Lal (33) who is a rickshaw puller and her children Sanjana (17), Mannu (15), Sarita (12) and Armaan (10). Two years ago, her family had came to Delhi from Chitrakoot in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, in search of a better livelihood and were staying in outer Delhi’s Budh Vihar phase-II. On Friday, it was the last time when the children saw their mother who made food for them. “I could not forget the moment when my mother was making food for us. She often used to feed us from her hand I can’t believe she is not with us, how we will live without her,” said the daughter.

Kalwati was missing from Friday and on Saturday the family members came to know about her death. The body of the woman was identified by a flower-shaped tattoo on her right wrist. “I was in tears when I heard that my mother was no more. A darkness came in my life I want justice,” said the girl.

Things were going on smoothly for the family, but elder brother-in-law Rama Shankar was creating problems by unnecessarily interfering in their lives, said Sanjana.

“He was jealous of my mother, my father never asked any question from her but the uncle regularly used to ask where she was going and why she is talking to her colleagues. He had even demanded money from the mother. In our native village also, he had misbehaved with my mother due to which he was removed from the village,” said the girl. On the fateful night, Sanjana went to her mother’s work place, thinking that her work would be over by then and both could buy vegetables together and then return home. When she reached the godown it was found locked. “I was not aware where she had gone I waited until morning and later, police informed us about mother’s death,” said Sanjana.
