Editor’s Notes: Fresh off the controversy of its polarizing IKEA-inspired ’Arena’ tote, Balenciaga drops its Pre-Fall 2017 collection. It’s more of the same sartorial spell from the house’s Creative Director Demna Gvasalia. The Georgia-born designer who also helms Vetements continues to mine Balenciaga’s rich archive, with a firm eye on contemporary Paris and its past and present narrative of subcultures. The result is a zany yet resolutely modern vision of femininity.
