Online shopping festivals are very popular with buyers, for various reasons. Primarily, it is the fact that you usually get to see and buy a much wider range of products than most stores can ever manage. Secondly, there is the convenience aspect. Compared to online deals, where you can save money right away due to discounts and cashbacks, deals in offline stores this time around mostly revolve around bundled freebies, attractive EMI options and extended warranty cover.

TVs

Japanese company Sony is offering freebies on the purchase of every Sony BRAVIA TV. They are also providing one year warranty on the TVs and an additional one-year for any manufacturing defects in the panel itself. Though there are no direct discounts on any of the products, the company is offering special offers which allow users to buy products on EMI with a down payment of as low as Rs.999.

LG Electronics which is as big in kitchen and home appliances as consumer gadgets is offering free gifts with its high-end OLED TVs. So if you are planning on buying a 4K TV that cost Rs.2,99,999, you can get a sound bar worth Rs.20,000, a mount bracket worth Rs.7,000 and four Blu-Ray movies worth Rs.4,000. If you buy a more expensive OLED TV, you can get a free home theatre system worth Rs.31,000. Panasonic is also offering a one seat recliner worth Rs.38,999 on the purchase of 4K Pro LED TV and 4K LED TV, which costs between Rs.2,00,000 and Rs.3,00,000.

To engage with the younger audience, Panasonic has announced a few contests such as Selfie contest, which allows user to win gifts worth Rs.3,495 by taking a selfie in a Panasonic store and sharing it on Facebook.

The company provide extended warranty, EMI schemes and deals on select products in its stores.

Anyone buying a Samsung Ultra-HD, Curved Ultra-HD and Smart TV will receive freebies including home theatre system worth up to Rs. 48,990 and an additional two-year warranty.

Notebooks

Lenovo is offering two years Accidental Damage Protection (it includes damage caused due to drops, spills, and electrical surge) and two years of additional warranty on purchase of premium laptops and convertible such as Yoga 500, IdeaPad 510/510s and IdeaPad 710s and Yoga 900.

Taiwanese company Asus is giving away gifts worth Rs.11,000 and a Microsoft Xbox One Controller worth Rs.4,000 on purchases of any Republic of Gamers series laptop. Asus is also offering interest free EMI plans on the purchase of Core i3, i5, i7 and m series laptops. The caveat here is that to access the offers user will have to register on http://asusdiwalioffer16.com first.

If you are panning on buying an Acer laptop or desktop, you won’t be getting any direct price cuts. Instead Acer is offering attractive EMI offers, free antivirus and data recovery softwares and the option to extend the existing warranty by paying Rs. 499.

HP has set aside freebies worth Rs.13,000 on select laptops and desktops in the HP Envy and Pavilion series. It includes two-year extra warranty worth Rs.5,999, one year McAfee Internet Security subscription worth Rs.999, and one year insurance against burglary and theft. With select HP Envy and Pavillion devices, user can get a free 1TB external drive worth Rs.4,999 on payment of Rs.1,999.

Another major player in notebook segment, Dell has offers worth up to Rs.18,773 on notebooks and desktops. On the purchase of Vostro Notebook, user will get a two-year additional warranty plus one-year Accidental Damage Protection and 15-month McAfee anti-virus subscription on payment of Rs.1,199.

On Inspiron notebooks, the offer includes Microsoft Office Home and Student 2016, Titan Voucher worth Rs.2,500, 15-month McAfee anti-virus subscription on payment of Rs.1,499.

Smartphones

Compared to online deals, there isn’t much on offer in offline stores. In smartphones, LG is offering battery and camera mods with the G5 and free data from Reliance Jio on all 4G LTE ready smartphones. With LG Stylus 2, Stylus 2 Plus and K10, buyer will get a free smart cover.

Xiaomi which usually sell its phones through online stores has released a smartphone called the Redmi 3s+ which will be available only through offline stores. This is their first offline-exclusive smartphone and will be available through Sangeetha, Big C and Poorvika Mobiles at Rs9,499.

If you buy Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge from a Samsung store you can get the Gear VR headset for just Rs1,990. A Gear VR headset costs Rs7,790.

Home Theatre

LG is offering a free mike and tripod worth Rs1,900 with its all in one mini home audio system X Boom, which cost Rs26,490. Panasonic is giving a cashback of Rs10,000 on purchase of Home-theatre systems.

Cameras

Nikon is giving away a Lowepro bag worth Rs9,999.00 on purchase of D5 and D810 DSLR cameras. On D750 and D610, buyer will get a Lowepro Photo Hatchback backpack worth Rs 5,500. On purchase of D5300 DSLR, buyer will get a HP Deskjet 1112 Printer worth Rs.2,922. With the entry level D3300 DSLR there is a 16GB Toshiba FlashAir Wi-Fi SD card worth Rs3,100, and a tripod worth Rs1,800.
