CULLMAN – Since 1944, one family has provided Cullman residents with essentials for farming: from animal feed to fertilizers, pesticides, seeds and more. Today, Tim Chambers and his wife and children run his family’s business, supplying Cullman with necessities for farming, gardening and animal care at Chambers Farm & Garden Supply. After losing the lease for their previous location on First Avenue Southeast, the Chambers family packed up and moved the business to a larger facility just off U.S. Highway 278 W, with the hope of expanding. The new location officially opened on Wednesday.
When asked if they would be offering anything new with the new building, Tim Chambers answered, “We’re gonna get more into shrubbery and landscaping, stuff like that. We did some of that at the old store, but now we’re actually gonna have shrub houses out on the side of the building. We haven’t got them put up yet, but that’s coming. That’s gonna be a big area we’ll expand into, and then the fencing products, we’ll have more of those.”
For those who like to plan ahead, Chambers also talked about some of the seasonal products they’ll be putting out soon. Their deer hunting products, which are usually big sellers around that time of year, will arrive in August. Also coming are fall flowers and garden items like mums and pansies.
The store’s new location is just off Highway 278 West, on McNabb Road Southwest, west of West Elementary School and across the street from the Jet-Pep.
